 ANNOTATION

The article is devoted to the consideration of the use of rubaiyat in the masnavi poem “Jamshed and Khurshed” by Salman Sowaji. It is emphasized that Salman Sowaji is the first poet in the history of Persian-Tajik literature who used the rubai as an auxiliary element and an important tool for artistic depiction in the composition of the masnavi. It has been proven that 18 rubai are used in “Jamshed and Khurshed”, each of them performs a certain stylistic, visual, expressive, conceptual and aesthetic function in the composition of the work. The rubai in “Jamshed and Khurshed” are meaningfully connected with the plot of the masnavi poem, express the feelings, mood, experiences of the lyrical hero, help to fully reveal his thoughts, inner world and psychological state. In the masnavi poem, the rubai, which are recited by lyrical characters, are often accompanied by musical instruments, such as an organ, chang, bow, strings, etc. It is noted that the entry of the rubai into the genre of the masnavi poem is one of the examples of innovation and synthesis of genres in the Persian Tajik classical poetry. However, these kinds of syntheses were partial and did not receive further development, as did the use of ghazal in masnavi, therefore in subsequent centuries in Persian-Tajik literature it is difficult to find masnavi, in the compositional and plot structure of which the rubai was used.
