 ANNOTATION

The article examines the development of the energy sector of Tajikistan in the period 2007-2017. It is noted that achieving energy independence is one of the most important issues and strategic goals of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. It is emphasized that after the Republic of Uzbekistan refused to export electricity to Tajikistan, this issue became one of the acute problems of the economy of our republic. The idea is substantiated that. There were many internal and external obstacles to the implementation of large hydropower projects in Tajikistan, but despite all the difficulties, many energy projects were implemented between 2007 and 2017, which helped achieve complete energy independence. The author comes to the conclusion that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2007-2017 was able to take decisive steps in resolving the issue of electricity supply in the republic
