ANNOTATION

The article underlines that M. R. Shukurov has a great role in the study and research of cultural problems of Soviet Tajikistan in country historiography. Because of his continuous and long efforts, the researcher was able to study all aspects of the republic's culture using rare archival materials, documents and historical sources, and achieved a fruitful result. The process of the cultural revolution and its victory in the conditions of Tajikistan, the elimination of illiteracy, the activity of new Soviet-type schools, science, literature, art, the press, publishing, the training of local personnel and the formation of local intellectuals are covered in the research works. The author recommends that the study of M.R. Shukurova’s works in terms of periodization of cultural life will be useful.
