ANNOTATION

This article discusses the main stages of cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in the Soviet era and the early years of their independence. The time period is limited to the period from the beginning of the 20s to the end of the 90s of the twentieth century; the periods when Tajikistan was an autonomous republic within the Uzbek SSR (1924-1929), and then when Tajikistan was as a sovereign republic within USSR developing it’s socio-economic ties with Uzbekistan. The study analyzes the essence of socio-economic relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, taking into account the traditions of friendship and good neighborhoodness, both in the Soviet period and in the first years of independence of the republics.
