ANNOTATION

The article is devoted to the material culture of Transoxiana and Khorasan in the 10th-11th centuries. It analyzes two stories from "Siyasatname" by Nizam al-mulk, which are given in the chapter "On sending scouts and on measures for the good of the state and people." Despite the content of stories which according to the author, are different from each other, he manages to show the development of monumental and civil construction of the era. In addition to the listed elements of the medieval architecture of Transoxiana and Khorasan of the era the article also reflects other elements of the material culture of the Tajiks, including clothing, household utensils, and jewelry.
