ANNOTATION

The article dwells on creation of the first universities in the country, which was a requirement of that time. It is underscored that in the 30-ies of the XX-th century, economic development and cultural construction, an increase in the number of incomplete and secondary schools required an increase in the number of highly qualified specialists. Taking into account the growing needs of the country in teaching staff, the Government of the Tajik SSR decided to create a pedagogical institute in Dushanbe, according to which two pedagogical universities were opened in our country in 1931-1932, one in Dushanbe and other in Leninabad. The article also examines contribution of the fraternal republics, in particular the RSFSR, to the provision of higher education in our country with highly qualified personnel and emphasizes contribution of Russian teachers to the creation of the second higher educational institution in our country - the IDPL named after CM. Kirov. One of the first teachers who connected their activities with the IDPL was M.I. Stamenov. It was she who made a significant contribution to the formation and development of the institute and the further development of the faculty of Russian philology. The article under consideration provides information on a wide range of activities of the honored teacher of the Tajik SSR M.I. Stamenova.
