 ANNOTATION

Investigating the specifics of the object and the goal of pedagogical diagnostics in various fields of knowledge, we come to the conclusion that the essence of the diagnosis in general, i.e. regardless of the field of knowledge, should be considered as a cognitive operation. From the same point of view, “the objects of diagnosis are systems of the“ second nature ”. These include those systems that have already been placed at the service of a person's goals, changed by his labor, included in social connections and relationships, and are consciously controlled by a person.Singling out in the most general form the diagnosed objects, which are social systems, we should talk about the development of practical means of regulation, management of these systems, functioning under human control.Thus, considering the diagnosis as a cognitive operation, notes the need for its practical implementation in the form of appropriate means; this means that pedagogical diagnostics can be carried out within the framework of scientific and practical activities aimed at systems that have become objects of human control.
