ANNOTATION

The article systematizes some approaches of foreign and domestic economists in assessing the level of well-being of the population in the region. As noted, recent trends in economic science have raised the standards associated with approaches to assessing the well-being of the population at the regional, national and international levels. The author concludes that both the overall assessment and individual parameters of the well-being of the population are valuable levels of analysis for studying the relevant factors for ensuring and improving well-being. According to the author, in addition to the existing criteria and factors in assessing the level of well-being of the population of the region, it is necessary to take into account the institutional factors that exist in the regional economy. In his opinion, the quality of institutions is directly related to the level of well-being, and in the process of such analyzes, this factor should also be taken into account.
