 ANNOTATION

The article presents information from one of the sources of the Kokand historiographic circle “Muntahab at-tawarikh” by Muhammad Hakimkhan about the personality and activities of the Afghan emir Dost Muhammad Khan. It is emphasized that “Muntahab at-Tawarikh” was considered a rare source on the history of the Kokand Khanate and the Bukhara Emirate, at the same time it is of great scientific importance in studying the political situation in Afghanistan in the first half of the 19-th century. It is noted that some information from Muhammad Hakim Khan were not reflected even in the historical sources of this country. Muhammad Hakimkhan, in his work about the famous Afghan emir Dost Muhammad Khan, with whom he was personally acquainted and had friendly relations, offers very interesting and interesting information that is essential for determining the moments of the life and work of this historical figure and the history of Afghanistan
