ANNOTATION
The article is devoted to the consideration of the weights of the Persian-Tajik masnavi of the XIV and first half of the XV centuries. It is noted that the poets of the period under study who wrote Masnavi did not make significant changes and developments in relation to Masnavi weights, but avoided following the tradition of the relationship between the unity of form (weights) and content in Masnavi and strived for innovation. It is emphasized that some authors of poems, such as Khoju Kirmani in “Humay and Humayun” or Khatib Farsi in “Qalandar-nama”, for the sake of innovation and avoiding monotony, took the initiative and, despite the theme and content of the masnavi, chose weights, in fact suitable for other content. During this period, such masnavi appeared as “Majma-ul-bahrayn” by Katibi Nishapuri, which had dual (various) weights, or were written in several weights, such as "Dahnama" by Imad Faqeh. It is concluded that the masnavi of the XIV and first half of the XV centuries were written in six of the seven weights of Persian-Tajik masnavi and they followed the eleven-syllable tradition of Persian-Tajik poetry.
