ANNOTATION

The article presents a historical and cultural analysis of the formation and introduction of Soviet holidays in Tajikistan. It is noted that in all eras, due to changes in the ideology of the era, social and political life, holidays have become a field of struggle between new phenomena and old traditions. After the October Socialist Revolution of 1917, fundamental changes took place in the organization of celebrations and rituals, and were formed new manners of national and international holidays. The Soviet government pursued an atheistic policy, according to which it was also required to abandon religious holidays and rituals. The rate of departure from religious rites among the peoples of the Soviet Union was not the same. In the early beginning of  Soviet power formation, there were new working conditions, the spread of socialist culture, innovations in social and family life, national self-consciousness, and the restriction of religious ideology. It has been established that throughout the territory of the Soviet Union, including Tajikistan, the following holidays are celebrated: the anniversary of the October Revolution, May Day, Soviet Army Day, International Women's Day, the day of the adoption of the Constitution, etc., they were celebrated in the form of solemnity, mass entertainment and in the family circle.
