ANNOTATION

The proposed article discusses the image of Khusrav Qubodon-Anoushervon in the work "War with the Persians" by the Greek historian Procopius of the 6th century, born in Caesarea. It is noted that the Roman philanthropist Procopius was not able to properly edit the original image of Anushervon. For example, describing certain battles, Procopius writes that the purpose of most raids was not so much the seizure of territories, but the seizure of property. Nevertheless, in a number of places he writes that Anushirvon was just in the war and did not allow wrongdoings to be used. An example of severe punishment for the rape of women in a conquered city is given.The reward for committing this behavior was death. One of the peculiarities of the image of the kings in the Shahnoma is that the Sasanian kings up to about Urmuzd IV take a personal part in the battles and take command of the army. Both in the Greek sources and in the "Shahnoma" and Arab and Muslim sources, the Sassanid army was not defeated in battles with Rome until about the 6th century. As a result, Rome is obliged to pay tribute to the Sassanians. In the report of Procopius, there is a point that is not mentioned in the sources Kavad's father Anushirvan addresses Justinian with a proposal to adopt a son whom he wants to appoint as his heir to the throne.
