 ANNOTATION

This article discusses the history of the invention of the clock and the calculation of time in Central Asia and the Middle East. With the rise and development of the science of mechanics (the "science of the imagination"), the first mechanical clock was built in Milan in 1335. The modern mechanical clock was built in 1657 by H. Huygens and used pendulums as a clock adjuster. In fact, two essential human needs: determining one's place in time and knowing one's time led to the emergence of the oldest branch of the exact sciences - astronomy. From generation to generation, for decades and centuries, people kept their observations and experience and tried to establish a regularity in the possibility of calculating various distances in time.
