ANNOTATION
The article considers the reasons of launching crusades and composing of “Qasidat-ul-quds” by Abumuzaffar al-Abiwardi. It is noted, that the poem is dedicated to the loss of Jerusalem and is acknowledged to be the poet’s masterpiece. “Qasidat-ul-quds” rhymed in letter “mim” and tawil meter is of great value both by its structure and content. The important point worthy of mentioning is the fact that the verse has always attracted the peculiar interest of medieval and contemporary European orientalists and historians, such as J. Carlyle, T. Boyadjian, K. Hirschler's, C. Hillenbrand, N. Hermes and others. Moreover, different translations of a number of beits of qasida were analyzed.
