Tajik literature, classical literature, Tajik language, local languages, literature in local languages, Pamir folklore, research In his article the author speaks about with the role of the Institute for the Humanities named after acad. B. Iskandarov NAST being the same age as the state independence of Tajikistan Republic which over the thirty years of the country`s independence has managed to use all available opportunities to study various aspects of the culture of population of Gorno-Badakhshan. This enabled the emergence of valuable research in the following fields, such as: history, folklore, literature and socio-economic science of the inhabitants of the relevant ancient Tajik land. It is underscored that Badakhshan has always been in the spotlight due to the existence of various ancient languages of the Tajik people and diversity of its folklore and literature has become the subject of comprehensive research since Tajikistan independence achievements. The article provides a brief overview of thirty years of achievements of one of the fundamental departments of ISN NAST - the Department of Literature and Folklore.
