 ANNOTATION

The article dwells on the significant contribution of representatives of science, literature and culture of Samarkand to the history of the formation and development of Tajik literature in the first and second half of the XVI-th century. It is noted that this city contributed to the development of science and art in all historical periods, science and culture of its existence. The author reflects on the state of literature in the literary circle of Samarkand in the XVI-th century, relying on the works of such scholars as V.V. Bartold, E.E. Bertels, U. Karimov, S. Sadiev. He also relied heavily on Vasifi's memoirs “Badoe` ul-wakoe” and the anthology of Mutribi Samarkandi. According to the author, in the first half of this period, the literature of craft and urban circles was more influential, and court literature was practically absent, but in the second half of this period, with the strengthening of the Shaybani state, the number of court poets who wrote praising qasids increased. Along with samples of poems by famous poets (such as Nozimi Miyankoli, Figori Samarkandi, Amini Dakhbedi, Afzali Samarkandi, Sodiki Samarkandi, Bokiy Samarkandi, Choshni Samarkand), the author also mentions the works of lesser-known poets who, during their lifetime, had their own sofa of poems written in different themes and genres.
