ANNOTATION

The article describes the structure, content and methods of classification of one of the sources of Persian-Tajik literature - "Muntahab-ut-tavarikh" by Muhammad Hakimkhan. It is noted that this historical source briefly covers the history of the world from the time of the creation of Adam to the time when this book was written. Its content is divided into 5 chapters. The first chapter of the work is devoted to the history of pre-Islamic prophets, the second chapter is about the pre-Islamic kings of Iran, and the third chapter is about the kings of China and France. The fourth chapter of "Muntahab-ut-tawarikh" is written on the history of the Umayyads and Abbasids, and the fifth chapter is written on the history of the states of the Safavids, Somanids, Ghaznavids, Seljuks, Khorezmshahs, Genghisids, Timurids, Shaybanids, Ashtarkhanids and Mangits. Muntahab-ut-tawarikh uses the methods of historiography: general history, local history and memoirs. The work also contains valuable information about the author's travels, historical events of the Kokand Khanate of the 19th century.
