 ANNOTATION

According to the curriculum of the University program for the specialty "Bachelor – teacher of English" a large amount of credit hours is determined for extra class activities of students, which makes up more than half of the entire course. One of the frequent forms of such activities among students is extracurricular independent reading. In this article, the author would like to consider the pedagogical conditions for organizing effective forms of work carried out as part of independent reading at the initial stage of studying at language university.
