 ANNOTATION

The article is devoted to the coverage of the battle of Qadisiya in historical sources and "Shahnameh". It is emphasized that the battle of Qadisiya between the detachments of the Arab Caliphate and the detachments of the army of the Sasanian Empire took place in 636 near the city of Kufa in Iraq. The battle was fateful. She accelerated the process of the collapse of the Sasanian Empire and turned it into an irreversible process. It is emphasized that with the collapse of the Sasanian Empire, the Iranian peoples were no longer destined to remain a great political force and play a significant role in regional and subregional politics. The battle of Qadisiya also reflected the collapse of the state structures of the Sasanian Empire. For example, in all studies it passes that the Daylamite detachment, consisting of four thousand horsemen, refrained from supporting Rustam's detachments. According to Tabari and further, Ibn al-Athir and the commander of Fars also did not support Rustam's detachments. The author believes that the presentation of the battle of Qadisiya, especially in Rustam's letter to his brother, could reflect Firdowsi's point of view about the Arab invasion of the Sassanid Empire. This assumption is made on the grounds that the text of the letter does not appear in the works of Tabari, Saalibi and the later author Ibn al-Athir mentioned in the article. Perhaps the essence of Ferdowsi's point of view is expressed by the following bait: “Harming others in their own favor, Seeking, but presenting faith as a pretext.
