 ANNOTATION

The article describes the different types of approaches of the state authorities of the Russia and China to the development of the territory of Big Ussurian Island, part of which was transferred to China in 2008 on the basis of the Sino-Russian agreement on the demarcation of the border. The material emphasizes the importance of placing civil servants in the reporting territory, who are directly responsible for its development and the implementation of tourism, transport, trade and economic potential. It is shown how China's experience in advancing the development of the territory can serve as an example for the state authorities of Russia, which is especially important for the Far East in the context of the emerging shortage of food products during the onset of crisis situations, such as the pandemic and the imposition of economic sanctions by the West.
