DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE TEACHERS AS A PEDAGOGICAL PROBLEM

 ANNOTATION

The article dwells on the development of professional competence of future teachers as one of the pedagogical problems. It is underscored that competence-oriented education is education in which the main attention is paid to the formation of practical (life, real, functional) skills and abilities. The author of the article discusses the term competence in various pedagogical and psychological literature and comes to the conclusion that the general nature of a teacher's professional competence is concretized in sources with various variants and models of professional-specific features. It is concluded that professional competence as an integrative property of a teacher's personality characterizes his awareness in the psychological, pedagogical and technical fields of knowledge, professional skills, and personal experience. Competencies are not taught, but formed as a result of professional knowledge, skills and abilities, and it is the practical result of knowledge, skills and abilities.
