 ANNOTATION

The article dwells on the analysis beset with the contribution of academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Hero of Tajikistan Bobojon Gafurov in the study of the cultural heritage of the Tajik people. Designing on the premise of factual materials the authors of the article show his painstaking work in the implementation of the "East-West" program and the project "Studying the civilization of Central Asia". Particular attention is paid to the new direction of activity of Bobojon Gafurov - the study of the literary, scientific and socio-political thought of some of the outstanding sons of the East. It also highlights the worthy contribution of Bobojon Gafurov to the revival of the Tajik classical folk musical work “Shashamakom”
