ANNOTATION
The article dwells on the educational goal of patriotic self-awareness among future teachers of a foreign language with the help of regional and local history materials. From the point of view of practical application, English teachers must apply the correct strategy and use effective teaching materials to increase students' interest in the subject under study and the level of their patriotic self-awareness. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that the ability to work with materials of a regional and local history nature, to evaluate the information received from various sources, is extremely important for the patriotic education of students. The authors came to the conclusion that the modern educational process should be aimed at the formation and development of a personality that assimilates social norms and values.
