 ANNOTATION

The article dwells on the issues beset with development of students` speech through the system of working on the text. It is underscored that the text is the basis for creating a developing speech environment at the Tajik language lesson promoting formation of creative potential of students, replenishment of their vocabulary, improvement of quality of speech and, as a result, increasing their linguistic competence. The author of the article lays an emphasis upon the idea that one of the most effective ways of working with text is the study of elements of speech, stylistic analysis, the study of linguistics, spelling and punctuation issues, teaching expressive reading as well. The author on specific examples proves that one should give preference to texts written in different styles, poetic texts; texts containing different types of lexical structure of the language, such as unambiguous, polysemic, direct, figurative, quotation, dialectal, argotisms, jargon, taboos and euphemisms being taken into consideration as well. The idea is substantiated that the use of the text in the study of the Tajik language provides a solution to such important problems dealing with school education as familiarizing students with spiritual wealth and beauty of their native language, fostering a careful and thoughtful attitude to the word. It is concluded that familiarity with texts of classical and modern literature, alongside with acquisition of certain skills in working with the text, also teaches the use of one word in different language styles, and complex work with the text is considered to be one of the most effective ways to prepare students for exams.
