STRUCTURE OF LABOUR AND METHODOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF ITS USAGE IN THE REGION

ANNOTATION
The article dwells on the issues beset with the structure of labour potential and methodological approaches to assessing its use in the region, the number of labour resources, employment and migration, the number of able-bodied population, the level of economic activity, unused labour potential and unemployment being taken into account as well. The author lays an emphasis upon the idea that the economic category of “labour potential” was formed in the 80-ies of the XX-th century to express a general assessment of personnel taking into consideration not only its actual characteristics, but potential resources and opportunities either. Into the bargain, the author of the article canvasses the quality of labour potential of the region by the method of quantitative value of able-bodied population of the region being considered to be indicators of volume, structure and ratio of demand and supply of labour potential structure. The Author of the article comes to the conclusion that the value of indicator aimed at assessment of labour potential should be calculated periodically in order to track its dynamics and elaborate effective ways to manage the region`s labour force, labour policy and staffing, long-term and short-term staffing strategy.
