ANNOTATION

The article examines the main stages and significance of ecological soil appraisal from a spatio-temporal perspective. Significant studies are analyzed in the context of aspects of soil appraisal with clarification of the main indicators of soil fertility. The opinion was expressed that in the Republic of Tajikistan the studies of the ecological appraisal of the soil cover were carried out one-sidedly, i.e. only climatic indicators were taken into account, which contradicts the principles of integrated soil assessment. Taking into account the natural features, it is proposed, first of all, a monitoring study of the soil cover, which in the future will serve as the basis for a comprehensive assessment or ecological assessment of soils.
